About me

After training as a goldsmith, Dörte Dietrich studied jewelry at the Burg Giebichenstein Academy of Art in Halle with Prof. Dorothea Prühl and completed her studies with a diploma. She works as a freelance jewelery artist in her studio in Leipzig.

The inexhaustible wealth of forms and colors in nature is the central theme of Dörte Dietrich's jewelry.

The ongoing process of becoming and passing away in its various stages of development is a source of inspiration and determines her formal approach. Capsules and chalices modeled from wax and cast in silver, or shapes embossed from copper sheet, chiseled and colored enamelled, become wearable decorative objects with a botanical character.
